Insight. Influence. Impact.

We move legislation, shift opinion, and win the fights that decide what gets built, passed, and heard.

The firm

Above Public Affairs was founded on a simple conviction: that the best public affairs work is built on deep expertise, trusted relationships, and a commitment to results.

We pair sharp strategy with relentless execution across advocacy, communications, digital, and research — the disciplines that move policy, shape narratives, and win campaigns. Founded by industry veterans, our bench draws from political campaigns, regulatory bodies, Fortune 500 in-house teams, non-profits, and government agencies on both sides of the aisle.

We are a focused, independent public affairs firm — purpose-built to deliver the kind of nimble, dedicated service that today's most complex public affairs challenges demand.

What we do

What fight are you in

Every engagement starts with knowing how we can help you win

Fights in the Public Arena

A competitor working the media. A surprise story naming your CEO. A message that has to hold steady across a dozen spokespeople. When your issue is contested in the court of public opinion, you need one coordinated voice across every channel at once.

How we help you win

  • Message development
  • Media & spokesperson training
  • News story placement
  • Reputation management
  • Crisis communications
  • Thought leadership strategy
  • Advertising — traditional & digital

Who we've helped win

Corporations, trade associations, and coalitions under sustained public pressure — holding the message discipline and media presence to come out ahead.

Making an Issue Something

A regulatory detail no reporter has picked up. A legislator who's never heard of your issue. Some fights are lost before they start because nobody's paying attention yet — we make sure they can't ignore it.

How we help you win

  • News story placement
  • Media & social monitoring
  • Online sentiment analysis
  • Editorial board briefings & journalist education
  • Advertising — traditional & digital
  • Single-issue website design & development

Who we've helped win

Organizations with a technical or under-the-radar issue — turned into sustained coverage and a legislative priority before decisions got made without them.

Land Use & Project Development

Whether opposition is already organizing at the county commission or you're still in site selection, projects don't get built on engineering alone — they get built on local support earned before the first shovel hits the ground.

How we help you win

  • Local stakeholder & influencer mapping
  • Community leader cultivation — grasstops
  • Supporter identification & mobilization — grassroots
  • Polling & audience analysis
  • Advertising — traditional & digital
  • Project websites with advocacy capabilities
  • Earned media strategy
  • One-pagers & presentations

Who we've helped win

Developers, utilities, and infrastructure companies facing local opposition — building the community support that carried projects through permitting and past resistance.

Coalitions, 501(c)(3)s & 501(c)(4)s

Standing up a new coalition from a blank page, or keeping an existing one from drifting between sessions — a coalition is only as strong as the infrastructure holding its members together.

How we help you win

  • Administration & infrastructure
  • Coalition building & activation
  • Communication infrastructure & databases
  • Member engagement & newsletters
  • Issue campaigns
  • Brand creation
  • Website design & development

Who we've helped win

Industry coalitions and non-profits — turning a member list into an active, mobilized network at the capitol.

Bill Killer — and Bill Passer

A bill in committee that could reshape your industry overnight, or a priority bill of your own that needs a coalition behind it. Legislative outcomes are decided by who shows up loudest at the right moment — we make sure that's you.

How we help you win

  • Legislator contact tools & constituent advocacy
  • Influencer-sphere & echo-chamber targeting
  • Advertising — traditional & digital
  • Ally & third-party coordination
  • Rapid response

Who we've helped win

Industries facing existential legislative threats — and advocacy groups pushing a priority bill — mobilizing the constituent pressure that moved the outcome.

Research & Analysis, Made Persuasive

Which lawmakers are actually persuadable? What does the data say — and will a legislator actually read it? Research only moves the needle when it's built to change minds, not fill a slide.

How we help you win

  • Survey research
  • Data modeling & management
  • Online sentiment analysis
  • Data visualization & mapping
  • Local jurisdiction & political analysis
  • Issue advocacy collateral & one-pagers

Who we've helped win

Lobbyists, coalitions, and campaigns on tight legislative timelines — raw data turned into materials that changed minds inside the capitol.

Trade Association Communications

Your board wants proof you're delivering value between sessions. Your members need a unified voice heading into a fight. A trade association's communications can't go quiet the moment the capitol clears out.

How we help you win

  • Member communications & newsletters
  • Legislative advocacy campaigns
  • Off-session engagement & updates
  • Message development for a shared agenda
  • Media relations & story placement
  • Advocacy events & annual meeting support
  • Coalition & ally coordination

Who we've helped win

Trade associations keeping members informed and genuinely engaged year-round — and fully unified when it matters most.
